100 Words or Less: Iron Man 3 (2013)

Plot holes everywhere, the story suffered from Shane Black’s influence, and in the end the poor story is really what brings this film down. I personally didn’t like the twist, but if the movie had been written well, I could get past that. 

Aside from plot holes, characterizations are all off, especially Pepper.

The performances by RDJ and Don Cheadle are really the only things that save this movie (to an extent). Even though I hate the story, I could still enjoy watching RDJ play Tony Stark.

This film is my least favorite of the MCU.

If you have an hour of free time...

This guy's rant was sent to me by one of my friends. It's long, and I don't agree 100% with everything this guy says, but he makes a lot of good points. He also takes my thoughts one step farther -- whereas I posted about what bothered me/didn't make sense/blah blah blah, this guy gets into stuff like what they could have done here, or should have done there, and is more in depth than where I got. So if you've got an hour, it's a fairly interesting watch.

He also seems to have the same general thought as me: RDJ/Tony Stark is amazing in this movie, and it's fun to watch, but its bad and makes no sense.

The 42 Armors

If you read my previous post on Iron Man's armor, you can get some details on the first 7 armors seen in the films. But how did Stark get to Mark 42 by Iron Man 3? We saw the Iron Legion briefly in the film, but not much detail for the armor. Here are some answers.

Mark 1-14 are unnamed, known only by their number. 1-7 Are the ones we've seen in the first 3 films (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Avengers), with Mark 2 becoming the War Machine Armor in IM2. I'll provide multiple photos when possible.

Starting with Mark 15, Stark starts giving them nicknames, and we get some brief descriptions.

Stark and Harley discuss this, but Stark sounds like he hasn't done it yet. Maybe he just doesn't want to tell Harley. Or with all that lack of sleep, maybe he forgot.

Unsure if this is the prototype for the same Mark II that Stark builds for Rhodes in the tie-in comic, or a different suit.
