So the Falcon is finally joining the MCU next April as part of Cap's franchise, and he's known as the hero from Harlem. I just think it would be nifty if they threw in a reference to the Hulk v. Abomination fight that destroyed Harlem as part of motivation for Falcon to join the team. It wouldn't have to be a big deal, really, just something I think would be another neat little connection.
That's all for today, I promise the rest of my posts this week will be more substantial, but I gave a double-header yesterday.

Also, what if they use the Harlem connection to bring (if in name only) Luke Cage into the fold. There's talk of a Heroes for Hire film, so why not?
ReplyDeleteThat could be really cool if it's done well. I'm still holding onto hope that the rumors are true that the giant guard from Thor when Thor is trying to break through SHIELD to get his hammer back was Luke Cage, it would be sweet if that were retconned to be true, even if it was before he got his powers.
ReplyDeleteDue to the rotating roster, Heroes for Hire might work better as a TV show than a movie, if the MCU is already going to be going into TV with SHIELD 2 shows might be too much. Maybe a series of short films released with other movies? I feel like it'd be hard to keep a huge movie franchise of HFH going for too long, and one movie just wouldn't be enough. I think if they take an interesting and idiomatic approach to it, it could be great.
People have made the point that with Marvel going bigger and more cosmic, more attention needs to be made to the "petty crime" going on in the cracks, and HFH would be perfect for that. So yeah, using the Harlem angle as motivation for new heroes to arise, especially after reactions to Avengers, could work really well.
